Leighton Johnson is the Assistant Vice President of Employer Connections at Ivy Tech Community College, the country’s largest singly-accredited college and Indiana’s premier workforce engine. Leighton Johnson currently oversees statewide operations and strategy alignment related to industry partnership development and workforce training delivery via non-credit Skills Training. He also guides the statewide alignment of 60+ Workforce Team members across Ivy Tech’s 19 campuses. Ivy Tech’s Skills Training portfolio currently represents over 18,000 enrollments, demonstrating +30% growth year-over-year and signaling one of the fastest growing enrollment segments of the college. Prior to joining Ivy Tech, Leighton served in various state-, and regional-level economic development roles for organizations such as Conexus Indiana, the South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership, and more. Volunteer engagement activities for Leighton include serving as: a Smart Manufacturing Fellow for the Indiana Manufacturing Readiness Grants Program; a steering committee member for the United Way of Central Indiana Diversity Leadership Circle; and as a Class IV graduate of the Mitch Daniels Leadership Fellows program.
